Protected Lands
TWT protects land through fee-simple acquisition, and conservation easements held by partners. Our protected lands are special places containing vibrant, intact ecological communities’ rich in wetland biodiversity—much of which is rare and unique. Several of our preserves are part of long-term ecological research studies, including the restoration of an inland salt marsh, nesting ecology of the Blanding’s turtle, and the reintroduction of Eastern Hellbenders.
